Subject: Re: Question and Suggestion for Flash Renamer

You should take a look at the "format" function! First you define the "parts", for example <%1> - <%2> and then you use these parts to construct a new filename using the format string, for example <%2> - <%1>. (Look in the manual for more help on the format function)

Subject: Question and Suggestion for Flash Renamer
Sirs,
I thoroughly enjoy your Renamer Program. It saves me countless hours of editing karaoke files (my database has over 100,000 separate files). I do have one question/suggestion about your software. Is there anyway you can add a feature that will format a field from “Last Name, First Name” to “First Name Last Name” as in Example 1. Additionally, when there are more than on artist in a field such as Example 2 to just change the formatting of first set of names in the field…I have the name editor in Excel but it will not recognize there are two names in the field and it will make Example 2 look like:
CBE7-01-03 - Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man – Porter & Dolly Parton Wagoner.mp3
Example 1
From:
CB90161-04 - El Shaddai - Grant, Amy.cdg
CB90161-04 - El Shaddai - Grant, Amy.mp3
To:
CB90161-04 - El Shaddai - Amy Grant.cdg
CB90161-04 - El Shaddai - Amy Grant.mp3
Example 2
From:
CBE7-01-03 - Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man - Wagoner, Porter & Dolly Parton.mp3
CBE7-01-03 - Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man - Wagoner, Porter & Dolly Parton.cdg
To:
CBE7-01-03 - Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man – Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton.mp3
CBE7-01-03 - Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man – Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton.cdg
If that is possible it would certainly facilitate my necessary data changes and I could just add into my presets….and I would be very happy! Thanks for your efforts and your program.
Sincerely,
Bryan L.
